2005 LitterOn January 27, 2005, Perky produced nine beautiful puppies sired by Andy. All pups have gone to their new homes, but please enjoy reading what made this litter so special, and the Pupblog of their days at Kelliwic.
Perky is sired by Walt Jagger’s imported Celt, a very well-known trialling dog (now deceased). Celt was not registered with AKC, yet his AKC-registered offspring have been so successful that he is a “ROMX” sire of the BCSA, the AKC-affiliate club. Perky’s mother is Ch. HCF Kelly CDX (obedience)
MX (agility), MXJ (agilty). Kelly is sired by another of Mr. Jagger’s
trialling dogs, Glen.(Photo of Kelly ©Steve Surfman) I bought Perky when she was two years old. Perky has been my “teaching” dog. She is started on sheep, and she is so nice to work; a livestock novice like me can learn something about stock from her. I hope that we can learn enough together to perhaps attempt a trial…or if I’m too slow to learn, then I hope to be ready by the time my pup from this litter can start some serious lessons. She is compact, and her structure is good. She is rated
OFA Good for hips (BCO-5085G71F-NOPI), DNA tested for CEA/CH: Normal
(OptiGen Accession # 05-830), and her eyes are CERF clear (BCO-2228N/2004˜76). She
is a rough-coated tri-color, and approximately 19” tall. Read
more about Perky and see more pics here. Click
here to see her pedigree. Andy needs little introduction for those who follow herding trials. He is owned by Cheryl Williams, and for the last several years has been in the top ten ranks of the US Border Collie Handler’s Association Combined Open Points system. The ranking system lists well over 500 dogs. I chose Andy to sire Perky’s pups not only for his proven working ability, but also for his fantastic in-your-pocket loving temperament. He has all the positive traits I see in Perky and want to see in the pups: drive, talent, ability, and an irresistible, “so-glad-you’re-my-pal!” personality. He too, is compactly built with good structure, rated
OFA Good for hips (BCO-2504G31M) , and has CERF clear eyes (BCO-2718N/2003—94). Pups are $800. A $50 donation from the sale of each pup will be made to a Border Collie Rescue group. A $100 discount will be given to USBCHA members in good standing. With dedicated training, I am confident that these
pups will be successful in competition...so confident, in fact, that
I am backing it up with cash! You can earn up to $500 through the Kelliwic
Performance Incentive Reward (PIR). We are located in northern New Jersey, and will ship pups from Newark International Airport to most locations. Have questions? Want to be considered for a pup? Want to see more pics? Please write and ask, and tell me a little about yourself!
